Internet Connection Problems

For the past 10 days, i was not able to open up my email, log on to this blogsite and visit my friends. The reason, our internet connection at the office had a major wiring problem. We reported the problem to PLDT but the technician only visited us after 2 days. He recommended we change our telephone line so our office purchased 1 roll to be sure that there will be enough telephone line to connect our office to the telephone's panel box. After 1 day of rewiring, we still did not have internet connection. We again called PLDT customer service to report the problem. Due to their efficiency, their technician visited us after 4 days since our second call. Not that we were not following up by consistently calling their hotline, i guess they really do not have enough qualified technicians. After another 2 days, finally our PLDT dsl line got connected. The technician replaced all kinds of boxes, panels, wires and other stuff to isolate the connection problem. We were so relieved to get connected after more than 7 days but after 1 hour when the PLDT technicians left our office, our DSL got disconnected again.

After another day, we got connected again, but once all the computers tried to access the internet, speed was sacrificed. We began isolating all our wires and tried to figure out which computer is causing the problem. And guess what, it seems my desktop was the culprit. Every time i tried to access the web, all other computers got disconnected. I figured it might be a virus so i tried to run a virus check. After performing a virus check, my pc did not report any infection. My virus scan is free so i guess it is not that reliable. Well, in short, i still do not have a reliable internet connection as of this time. I was able to log on today by using another computer unit. Chances are, i might not get connected again next week because this computer unit will be used by another office person.

I apologize to my friends who i have not visited lately. Hopefully everything will be back to normal this coming week.

It's all right, Lemuel. We understand.

I'm familiar with PLDT internet problems. We run across them every now and then. Especially when there's heavy rain, connection really becomes slow, sometimes to the point of even cutting off. Then, when it finally connects again, it goes on selective browsing wherein it just chooses the sites it wants to connect to. (Sigh)! Maybe something to do with their old lines...

Did you say PLDT? That's it. 'Nuff said. No wonder.

is pldt reputation that bad?
Yes, I heard others say it is and I also know it personally because...

what are you using now?
... I am using PLDT now, unfortunately. But it will only last 'till the contract ends.

Lemuel, your pc is a bad boy! Ahahaha.

PLDT and SmartBro - iisa ba ang may-ari nito?

You're having problems with PLDT. I'm having problems with SmartBro. Pag 12midnight nawawala ang internet connection. Meron pa rin pala - kaso nga lang mabilis pa sigurong maglakad ang mga langgam.

I'm rechristening it as my Cinderella Internet connection. Kasi nga pag 12 midnight, wala na, pack up na ako. Nawawala pagka adik ko nito sa blogging eh.

Ay - except for tonight pala - aba, 2:20 am na pala, buhay pa rin siya. Ahahaha.

@ elmot, thanks for the comment. how about you, what do you use? any recommendations?

@jan, yes, pldt and smartbro are sister companies. both are headed by mr. manny pangilinan, a very famous but generous man since i know his projects with the poor from my previous work. i guess pldt has too many subscribers for them to handle and as i read somewhere, smartbro is still experiencing problems since they were the first to offer wireless connection. do you have any suggestions to?

@Lemuel - I'm not too knowledgeable about this, my friend. Hit dito kasi ang wireless connectivity via SmartBro. Uhaw na uhaw sa internet eh. That's maybe one of the causes ng problem. Sana they upgrade or something para di maraming nabibitin sa service. Sa gabi lang naman. Usually at midnight. Perhaps they're doing some maintenance work during those hours? Sana maresolve na ito. It's making me tense and grumpy eh. Ahahaha. Of course, I can use the rest. Mas maaga tuloy me matulog. And boy, do I need to catch up on sleep. Dami ko ng utang in that department. Para akong Pinas. lols.

@Lemuel: I have no idea about Skycable and Sun, sorry. But we've tried Bayantel before and it was excellent! I can never remember having any one little problem with Bayantel! They were that good! You may want to check them out...
